Bug-Load from bookmark file doesn’t load images. For example, load https://slickdeals.net/, the images will be loaded for each frontpage item, but if save the site https://slickdeals.net/ to a bookmark, and then export the bookmark file to bookmarks.html and select that bookmarks file as homepage file (file:///D:/WinShare/HTML/bookmarks.html), and then select slickdeals.net from the file, the images will not be displayed.

How can this issue be reproduced?

1.Bookmark site https://slickdeals.net/
2.Create bookmark file - Export bookmarks to bookmarks, html
3.Load bookmark file
4. Click on Slickdeals.net from bookmark.html file
5. Images will not load correctly

Expected result:

Images load correctly

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.25.68 Chromium: 91.0.4472.77 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Hey @johnd !

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue.

Do you have any extensions installed?

Thank you,

Porridge

Hey again @johnd !

I can replicate what you are observing, however, the main purpose of the exported bookmark.html file is to import it into another browser or instance of Brave; this means that it is formatted in such a way that the hyperlinks are modified not for typical use.

Hope this helped!

This is a bug. It has always worked this way in Brave up until recently. Also, it works fine this way in Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, etc. Why would it load a URL differently from a file as apposed to a bookmark or typing it in. It should load it the same.

Many people run a bookmarks.html file as their homepage instead of using the bookmarks menu. Please fix this!
