browser vulnerability brave, me hacked

i’m using brave a little less than 1 month. my two instagram were hacked and posted things that caused my accounts to be suspended. I used the edge browser for many years and never happened to me only after I started using brave and it was soon my two instagram accounts that were logged into it. how can I resort to this now that I have lost my account?

@rokoloko,
While I empathize with someone gaining access to your account, it is likely not Brave’s fault that your accounts were hacked. Typically, when bad actors gain access to user accounts, they do so because user data has been leaked or some server was hacked. It’s not an easy task to “hack into someone’s browser” directly.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do for you here. If your accounts are hacked, I would recommend reaching out to IG support and probably changing all of your passwords. You can also use sites like https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if your information has been shared online.

but what leaves me very intrigued is that I used 2 Brave browser profiles and in each profile I used a different Instagram account and precisely both were hacked and posted the same things and consequently were suspended for reasons the account activities do not meet community standards on account integrity.

Right, but if you were using Chrome or Firefox or some other browser with different profiles, your IG account very well may have been “hacked” all the same.

Unless there is a specific vulnerability you can point to, or perhaps a specific suspicious site you visited while browsing that you can point to, there’s not a lot of information to go off of here that would point to Brave being the entry point to the bad actor accessing your information.

As stated before, hacking into someone’s browser remotely without the victim (in this case, you) clicking on/downloading and running some malicious executable is not an easy task. If you have run thorough virus scans on your machine and no malicious files or executables were found, its more likely that someone got this information and accessed from another source.
