Browser crashes when clicking on a downloaded file

Description of the issue: Lately when I download a file, be it image or anything, and try to click or drag-and-drop into another application, the browser crashes and closes without giving any error messages. When I start the browser again I see only the usual message “Brave closed unexpectedly. Restore last session” or something along the lines of that.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download a file
  2. Click the file in the download bar at the bottom of the browser
  3. See your browser crash

Expected result: The file is opened

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave is up to date

Version 1.48.167 Chromium: 110.0.5481.104 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: Only extensions I use are Return YouTube Dislike, YouTube NonStop, and JSON Viewer. OS: Windows 11 64 bit

  • if you have automatic crash reporting is enabled (Settings --> Privacy/Security --> Automatically send diagnostic reports), please respond back here with the crash report ID
  • If Automatically send diagnostic reports is not enabled, ensure you click Send on these crash reports listed on the page, then reply here with the crash report ID

Hi @steeven, Yes sorry I didn’t update earlier. I’ve upgraded to latest version but problem persists. Even for example dragging a PDF into Brave makes it crash.
