Brave window crashes instantly after I attempt to launch it

Description of the issue:
Browser crashes instantly after opening.

Steps to Reproduce:
Launch brave.exe in application directory, or via desktop shortcut.

Actual Result:
Browser opens for a split second, appears as an all-white window, then closes instantly.

Expected result:
Browser will stay open when launched

Reproduces how often:
Anytime I attempt to launch the browser

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 22H2, OS Build 19045.3448
Brave 1.59.117 Chromium: 118.0.5993.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
My browser is configured to pick up where I left off, so all of my tabs stay open across browser sessions; I have approximately 60 tabs open. However, I doubt this is due to a lack of available RAM, as I have 16 GB total, with only 60% in use whenever I try to launch the browser. This is about typical for me, and has never caused issues before.

If I right-click on the Brave icon on my taskbar, I can open a new incognito window, and it stays open with no issues. However, attempting to open a new “regular” window by right-clicking on the taskbar induces the same manner of crash.

I’ve already attempted to reinstall the browser (without removing browsing data), to no avail.

Makes it seem like an extension might be causing your issue. Let me ask, are you using vertical tabs?

I’ve already removed every extension from Brave, using the Incognito window.
Yes, I am using vertical tabs.

@DanielThePear hmm, when you say removed extensions, did you remove themes? Currently a known is as you can see discussed below. I’m wondering if that is what is going on with you or if it might be a similar yet different issue?

I’ve been using the Colourful Galaxy theme on Brave for a few years. I still have it enabled.

@DanielThePear So it’s possible that’s it. Essentially until they fix it, may have to disable vertical tabs, remove the theme, or use a secondary profile. They give instructions on all of that in the link I provided.

Thank you so much! I’ll follow the instructions in the linked guide.
