I searched the FAQ to try and find where the link is to the Brave New User Tutorial, but the only thing that pops up is this post from 2019 that doesn’t quite answer the question.
I searched through my e-mail and I don’t seem to have the supposed e-mail that I would have gotten, but that shouldn’t be the only way to view it and if I try to search for @discobot, nothing of relevance pops up. Help please.
I’m not sure what is meant by, “Say, @discobot display help”. Where are you supposed to “say” this? I have put it into the search here in the community and nothing pops up. If I put it into the address bar, the first hit in the search is a thread on Discourse that talks about discobot, but not how to use it, call it up, etc.
@allowshoutbold I think you are getting a few things mixed up here. Discobot is one of the things that first sends us a DM when we create an account here on Brave Community. It would start something like below:
What is it you’re trying to find? When you say “Brave New User Tutorial,” nothing really exists as such. But you can find a variety of articles that speak of various aspects of the browser and how to use them at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us.
If you could, would you be a little more specific on the type of information you’re seeking and if the link I provided above might be what you need?
Sorry for the delayed response… I was taking the time to explore more of the space and under Badges -->getting started, there is the “Certified” badge that says to “Complete our new user tutorial”. When you click on it, it states the following, “This badge is granted upon successful completion of the interactive new user tutorial. You’ve taken the initiative to learn the basic tools of discussion, and now you’re certified!”
This is what I’m trying to find, but one would think said tutorial would just have a simple link under this explanation. It is this “interactive new user tutorial” that I’m trying to find. (no mention of a bot).
@allowshoutbold sorry, just looked deeper and want to be clear. If you hadn’t looked and noticed, you get two basic messages from Discobot. One is the message I shared the screenshot of earlier, which was my intro when I first created this account. However, I realized that isn’t the one that starts the tutorial. The tutorial happens after your’e active here and reach a certain trust level. I’m not sure which trust level it was to trigger it.
Brave Community uses Discourse, which is why it’s linking to details on increasing Discourse trust levels.
As to messages, Users here can no longer initiate messages due to the amount of scammers that had been coming around and sending messages pretending to be from Brave. And when they removed the ability to send messages, it also took away the menu to navigate to the inbox. So the only way to see things is to know the direct link or to receive a message and travel to it via notifications.
Thank you for looking deeper into this. Not only does it seem that there is a deeper level of understanding on this issue for all that you have uncovered, but even how to get to my messages defenately helped because I do not have the initial message sent and now I have access to it and have started to go through the information it has provided.
