Description of the issue:
On Windows, when alt-tabbing through my windows, Brave will show an empty page if it isn’t visible on my screen.
This may be on purpose, but I find it a little off-putting, as no other application I use doe this. Nor have I found any reference to this behavior. Not as a bug, nor as a feature.
I have found a bug report about empty pages, but this is a bug where the empty page is there even when Brave is the active window.
**Steps to Reproduce (on Windows 10):
- Open Brave, maximized and with a page loaded
- Open another application, not maximized
- Press alt-tab --> you can see the preview of the loaded page in Brave
- Maximize the other application
- Press alt-tab --> you can see the preview of Brave, but with an empty page
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
See this video
Here is a screenshot of Brave maximized, and the other application not maximized. The result is as expected:
Here you can see the the preview of Brave shows an empty page. The other application (Explorer) is now maximized over Brave:
I tried setting both Brave and Explorer as non-maximized. I then resized Explorer so that it is entirely over Brave. When I drag the left border of Explorer to the right, to slowly expose Brave, it is empty (until I release my drag):
I suspect the Brave removes the page from view if it isn’t being drawn on the screen?
I also tested this with Edge and Chrome. These don’t show this behavior.
Expected result:
I expect the webpage to be visible when I use alt-tab and when I resize or drag an other application away from over Brave.
Reproduces how often:
Consistently, every time
