When restoring tab session it takes quite a bit of time but all of the windows load up but none of the windows are responding. The pages load up but I can’t interact with anything cause it’s just showing me the “not responding” message on top of the tab bar once I try click the window. I’m trying to restore ~7000 tabs but in the past I have tried to restore even more tabs without any issues while it takes some time to load but once it loads it doesn’t become unresponsive. And brave is not even using not a lot of CPU nor RAM so I’m not sure whether the brave is really even interesting to load them.
I did try to wait multiple hours to wait if it just hasn’t loaded everything yet few times but same results
Brave version: v1.75.175
Also the restore tab session button that is prompted when you launch the browser if you have “continue where you left off” on I closed it accidentally but I do have sessions backed up but there are multiple files do I just move single file or all of them in back to the “sessions folder”
That’s a lot of tabs! I recommend using bookmarks instead, and also this extension which will prevent tabs loading when they are restored:
I don’t know what you mean by the session backup and “sessions folder”. Is that something from Brave, or an extension?
Your first port of call to recover the window should be the History > Recent Tabs menu, from which you might be able to restore the window. If it is not in there, it might be available in the extension below, which gives access to the complete list of restorable tabs and windows (the History menu only has 8)
So the reason I keep tabs open instead of using bookmark is cause bookmark only saves you the certain page and also refreshes the tab so some activities maybe forgotten.
And it is not about resource issue cause from what I checked the task manager on windows 11 like Brave wasn’t using much resources at all.
The “sessions” folder is something from Brave it’s folder that has all of the tab sessions it has multiple files so I’m not sure whether single file is like single tab session or all files being equivalent to single tab session.
