Help restore Tabs

Hello, I had 3 Brave windows open for a while, each with between 20-50 tabs.

After opening my browser today, only 2 windows restored. The 3rd one disappeared.

I tried the following:

  • CTRL + Shift + T
  • Restoring history sessions
  • Using some Chrome extensions

Nothing worked, and the window seems to have disappeared.

Is there a way to manually restore it from the Brave-Browser folder, or do you have any other solutions ?

Henceforth, I suggest:

That you routinely - through good self-discipline - backup your Windows Registry and create System Restore Points.

At least every day; and sometimes if your work is important, more than once per day.

In addition, routinely backup your Brave Browser bookmarks by using the Export button.

Go to: brave://bookmarks/

Locate the Menu button — possibly near the Search (Magnifying Glass) icon

Click on that button, and select “Export bookmarks”

The Brave Bookmarks would be saved as an HTML file, such as “bookmarks.html”.

And figure out how to routinely backup your Passwords - every day.

Hello Zeratros,

Thanks for your note, but sorry we have the same serious problem.

Brave’s developers have ignored this significant flaw for years.
There seems to be no fix, even manually.
When we lose Tabs - they are gone forever.

I had just about moved all my tabs, and work to Brave.
Now I’ve lost all that work comprising months.

What a pisser.
Going to move back to Firefox or Vivaldi - Opera is now a Corporate lost cause.
Sending best wishes,
Dashing Dave
PS Kind of terrible how Brave closes all problem comments after 30 days.
Are they afraid someone will come up with a solution - without giving them credit ?

In Menu --> History any open windows with tabs in them will appear under Recent tabs. This is and always has been the case. This has never not worked for me.

For example, there is a known macOS issue (not specific to Brave) that will sometimes cause my application windows to not open after restarting my machine. When this happens, I simply open Brave, click Menu --> History and use the Restore tabs/ Restore window option:

If the browser crashes or some other weirdness occurs with your OS (like in my example), you should be able to immediately use the menu listed above to restore your tabs.
