Brave mobile randomly crashes when selecting a text input field

Description of the issue:
Exactly as stated in the title.
The browser crashes when selecting a text input field, on any site, at any time, without warning - randomly.

How can this issue be reproduced?
Truly, I do not know, as itā€™s entirely random. Even typing this, I have to copy the entirety of the text to the clipboard, just in case!

  1. Open, & use Brave;
  2. Browse the internet, watch videos, listen to audio, write comments, etc.
  3. Keep my fingers crossed that selection of/ re-selection of the next text field doesnā€™t ā€˜causeā€™ Brave to crash, thereby losing everything Iā€™ve just entered.

Expected result:
Simple: do nothing beyond allowing normal use of website text fields.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave 1.76.73, Chromium 134.0.6998.45

Mobile Device details
Samsung Galaxy S9+
Android 10; Build/QP1A.190711.020

Additional Information:
This first happened around September 2024 (+/- 1 month).

I always use the latest published version, but not beta builds, without dabbling in brave/flags.

I regularly free up memory/ clear the cache/ flush history etc., & clear site data (Site settings/ Data stored).

(I have two other issues with Brave mobile, but shall create separate topics to cover each.)

I hope that this may be resolved, even if itā€™s a settings error on my end!

Do you have any crash logs available at brave://crashes when this occurs?

Unfortunately, no, because I didnā€™t know about this.
When it next occurs, Iā€™ll be sure to access that page.
As of now, it shows ā€œ0ā€.

Following up, unfortunately this is an OS level bug that was resolved in Android 12. The latest comment in the link below can provide some more context. https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/41185#issuecomment-2741184876

Itā€™s strange that it wasnā€™t a problem until Brave was updated sometime Aug to Oct last year, which is what one commenter seems to have found, ā€œkorbelā€, within the thread.
However, Iā€™d have to go back to an older version, & that defeats the purpose of updating.
Iā€™m also stuck with the 'phone until finances are much better!

Oh well.
