Brave freezes when logging in Wordpress

I’ve been using Brave for almost a year now. Love the idea, speed and addfree envoirement. However since about a month ago, I start getting huge freezes when I try to log in to WordPress envoirements. This is really anoying for me being a WordPress developer. I log in to alot of Wordpress websites.

It doesnt happen every loging, but I’d say every 5 or something. The browser freezes for a good 2 minutes, then it works again.

It’s not pc related, I’ve had this on my windows 11 laptop, as well as my windows 10 pc. Both have the most recent version of brave: v1.44.112 (Oct 12th, 2022)

Other things I’ve tried:

Remove all extensions, disabled hardware acceleration

Any thoughts?

Additionally, please try to open a new page using private mode or guest mode. Let me know if that works and have a nice day! :wave:

Hi there,

It is already not blocking scripts. That solution won’t work.

Additionally, I can’t always visit every page in private mode concidering I got passwords saved and it would slow my work down tremendously.

Any other suggestions?

It could be related to an extension interfering with your profile, please try removing your extensions to see if it works properly. To Remove an Extension:

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click Menu icon --> More tools --> Extensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Or:

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. On your extensions toolbar, right-click the extension you would like to remove.
  3. Select Remove from Brave… from the context menu.

Let me know if that fixes the issue.
