Description of the issue: How can this issue be reproduced?
Brave doesn’t keep the following settings:
Brave Shields / Disable “Trackers & ads blocking”:
– I’ve disabled “Trackers & ads blocking” but after closing and restarting the browser, it sets back to standard.
Cookie settings:
I’ve enabled “Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows” which works fine. However, websites on the exceptions list won’t be remembered after a browser restart and the list will be wiped out.
For example I added “https://duckduckgo.com/” to “Sites that can always use cookies” but the browser doesn’t keep the settings.
When I choose to disable “Trackers & ads blocking”, the browser needs to respect this settings like it did in previous versions.
“https://duckduckgo.com/” is added to the list for “Sites that can always use cookies” because this allows me to keep the settings on this website after a browser restart while the function “Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows” is enabled.
Brave Version: V1.38.117
Additional Information:
In previous releases i hadn’t these issues.
Thanks for the instructions. That doesn’t work because it won’t clear cookies.
The browser needs to clear everything except cookies and site settings for https://duckduckgo.com/.
However, it works with following settings:
brave://settings/clearBrowserData
For tab On exit - set:
Disable: Cookies and other site data
Disable: Site and Shield Settings (it was enabled, that’s why it didn’t work like i want it to be)
UPDATE - MY MISTAKE in my previous reply 2, above; now fixed. (For the first go at the Advanced tab, I originally had intended to write ENABLE but mistakenly wrote Disable. Apologies. And a ‘Duh’.)
I would stick with the settings that I recommended; you wanted to preserve your Shields settings.

Now . . .
In a Brave Browser > New Window, go to: brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fhtml.duckduckgo.com
Enable: JavaScript
And do not be tempted by the other settings.
–
Next, go to brave://settings/cookies
Scroll down that settings page, to Sites that can always use cookies
Click the Add button
Enter https://html.duckduckgo.com:443 as the site.
