Brave crashes immediately

Brave still crashes, and has the Brave made any official #support-and-troubleshooting announcement regarding this issue?

At Brave://crashes after clicking on “Send now” under each crash report ID, appeared the phrase “upload requested by user, not yet uploaded” .
Why doesn’t Brave upload crash reports immediately even when automatic crash reporting is turned on

#support-and-troubleshooting I think I may have stumbled upon a temporary solution. Disconnect the computer from the Internet and start Brave. Brave does’t start and crash. Then type the URL you want and connect the machine to web, and reload the web site

This test build works for me. Prior: immediate crash on start; started happening today. Windows 10.0.18363. No recent updates other than AV definitions. Thanks.

I have been crashing on v .113 and v.114 a couple minutes after opening brave.

This is straight up unacceptable, I loved using brave. But FUCK THIS. I hope they fix it just so I can pull all my bookmarks off there God forsaken site. Going back to WaterFox… A browser that works.

Based on the September 19 thread on the same issue, I disabled sync and it stopped crashing.

Close Brave://crashes and open it again, you will see it’s uploaded.

I did a Windows Repair yesterday and reinstalled the latest version of Brave. Prior to yesterday, Brave worked flawlessly. After about 4 hours on my pc this morning Brave froze up, all other apps were fine. Closed Brave and reopened. Immediately after reopening it started to crash within a second of opening. I found this page using WaterFox and installed version, 1.3.114, the one linked to by Asad. That changed things from crashing within a second to remaining open for 1-3 minutes. I uninstalled 1.3.114 and installed an older version, 1.2.43. It still crashes within 1-3 minutes.

I decided to install Beta 1.4.80. Beta has been up for about 10 minutes without a crash. I opened the Standard version, with Beta still open, and that has now been up for about 5 minutes. Perhaps by installing the Beta, something in a shared directory/library has been fixed?

I turned on the auto sending of reports, as well as sending some from before they auto sent, hope that means I get a shirt now

I’ve been running both browsers, 1.3.114 and 1.4.80, simultaneously for about an hour now and had zero crashes. I think the Beta may have fixed the standard crash.

I just installed and launched Brave v1.3.114. It did not fix the issue: Brave still crashed and closed itself within a couple of minutes.

The last version of Brave that worked for me was 1.01. The key to the issue lies in whatever changed from 1.01 to the next version.

The problem has been going on for two months. I wonder how many people by now have simply given up on Brave. I’m certainly approaching that point.

FWIW, the problem is not specific to Brave: the same thing happens with Chromium on my computer (Kubuntu 18.04 LTS).

Firefox and Pale Moon work fine, but I’d rather use Brave because of the privacy features, plus unlike FF or PM you can save files to PDF that preserve the Web links on the page.

I have the same issue. After the last beta upgrade, both my Windows 10 machine and Mac OS machines Brave browsers crash immediately on startup… Not cool… I was able to install the “standard” build and it works but I lost the history. Anyway to get the beta app going again?
