okay, so according to Mylo removing cookies didn’t solve it, and also removing all extensions didn’t solve it. and according to me personally with Mattches, i never installed any PWAs…
what’s the next step? i won’t allow this post to close yet, we haven’t solved the problem yet.

Hopefully this might be of help, now I’ve created a second profile, I get the profile select screen when I open Brace. If I click my Mylo profile I get a about a second when that profile launches, and in that second I can click a shortcut and the browser will work as normal. I looks like the browser is trying to access something on start up - I’ve already disabled news feeds as mentioned in another thread, but could this be related to something the browser is accessing on launch that causes it to hang until it times out or resolves?

Reporting back, my Brave seems back to how it was (ie working). The issue seemed to be related to the “new tab” / default home screen which I never changed. I noticed when I loaded up Brave I had about half a second to click on a shortcut and it wouldn’t hang and would access the desired link. I’ve set my new tab to my search provider and everything is working fine. I’ve reinstalled my old extensions and everything is back to how it was.
so just make it to open on homepage, instead of newtab page? “home page / desired browsing engine page”

i tried to update the side account, told me the browser is up to date, i tried to launch the main account, again it froze… nothing new… still frozen…
the lack of replies is most likely because users moved on to another browser, and left brave behind. i’m currently using firefox, i won’t mind returning to brave if the problem is solved.

I’ve responded to you in the other thread concerning the browser crashing on macOS Ventura. I believe that this is a separate issue from the one that was originally opened here.

If you are able to open and run the browser with a new profile then the issue is likely specific to that profile. Can you please confirm this by downloading and running the Beta build of the browser and tell me if you are able to launch the Beta version as expected?

okay so… i just installed the beta browser… and it informed me about “avast online security, avast safe price, and torrent scanner” extensions that aren’t working with it …since i already deleted them… so i decided to go back and check with my normal profile…
i launched it … and at first it lagged for 5 seconds then worked! so i decided to test it … closed the window and tried to relaunch it … and now … NOT EVEN LAUNCHING! the beta browser works, the default browser… stopped launching altogether! “checked in task manager” YES, brave browser got stuck in the background! … so i launch it … it makes my C: drive go from 0% to 88% usage! and it takes 255 mb to work! … how much exactly did i ruin this profile?! also i rechecked my extensions … nothing out of the ordinary…
Beta build works from the get go…
