Brave bringing YouTube ads in upcoming updates?

Description of the issue: Recent Brave Browser update brought blank screen with “Skip ad” button on Youtube.com before a video starts. This never used to happen before the current update took place.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave browser on Windows 11, check for recent update

  2. Update to Version 1.58.137 Chromium: 117.0.5938.153 (Official Build) (64-bit)

  3. Visit youtube.com and watch any couple of videos

Expected result: the skip ad button will be visible followed by a blank white screen in the video player and it will stay unless clicked on “skip ad” button.

[Version 1.58.137 Chromium: 117.0.5938.153 (Official Build) (64-bit)

**Additional Information: Client is PC running Windows 11 22H2, Build - 22621.2283 | Intel(R) Core™ i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz **

This has nothing that got to do with a Brave Browser update. Apparently this is something Youtube has been testing for a while blocking Ad Blockers amid declining Revenue. Don’t worry, nothing’s wrong with Brave.

@B.Ashu26J95 you really should search for similar topics before posting. For example:

This has been a constant back and forth. YouTube is trying to find a way to bypass adblock and to ban people using adblock technology. Meanwhile, Brave keeps updating to block ads and avoid detection.

Thanks for reverting.
It was more like a knee jerk reaction.
