Brave blocking Wikileaks

Except via Tor, Brave is blocking Wikileaks.org. Is that a bug or a feature?

Not only Brave. Neither Edge or Google Chrome opens wikileaks.org.

Maybe go to brave settings → Privacy and security → security → Use Secure DNS → CLICK ON WITH CUSTOM AND CHOOSE CLOUDFARE 1.1.1.1 works for me

Pretty weird, that works on my windows but doesn’t on my Android when doing the same steps.

what drama?

i am trying to guess the reason that it work with tor but not with normal window

so it’s your isp/country that block it

to make sure that it’s isp try to use different browser and you will get the same result

Not your drama, the brower’s drama. And it works with Edge and Firefox and Chrome.

Works for me in both Private windows and Private w/Tor windows but not in standard windows. Definitely a bug, not a feature although I’m not sure what’s causing it. Will make sure the team takes a look.

Thanks, Smarty Aadi. My Brave is managed, so that option is not available. On thinking about it for a moment, I may be able to get it unmanaged for a brief period to try your workaround.

Actually, it looks like it is working in Beta in standard windows and Nightly but not in Stable/Dev builds which is even more confusing.

Thank you Mattches. One time it worked for me in a Private window, but the next time it didn’t. It does work consistently in Tor. Do you know whether there’s a way, perhaps via the registry or config dialog, to add a security exception?

504 is a sever-side issue so I imagine that this will fix itself and work consistently after a while. Testing some more I’m now seeing 504 errors on FireFox as well:

Thanks. I hope so. I’ll check again tomorrow. (My conspiracy brain immediately jumped to the NSA.) So far it’s only Brave with which I’m having a problem.

Maybe they’re having server problems. I’ll check tomorrow.
