Brave ads not appearing, brave not in available apps for notifications

I have windows 10 and Brave Version 0.69.132 Chromium: 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit).

I have Brave as my default browser. I have notifications set to “on” and focus assist set to “disabled”. But Brave does not appear in my available apps for notifications.

This problem appears to have been stated as solved, but I can’t see on the community what the solution is.
