The bookmark button is only used for adding/removing bookmarks.
I would like to see the bookmark button, open up into a dropdown menu of my bookmarks/bookmark folders. I don’t want to go into sidebar and I don’t want a second bar under my address bar for only a few bookmark folders.
Please adjust the bookmark button so that it does more than only add/remove bookmarks, allow it to drop a list of bookmarks/bookmark folders so that one can easily access their bookmarks without being forced to use the side bar, the “bookmark bar under address bar”, nor the ladder-menu at the top-right.
The simple bookmark button should drop a list of all saved bookmarks/bookmark folders, as well as continue to add/remove bookmarks.
This would be similar to other bookmark/favorite buttons in other browsers.
It has been 2 years since I created this post. I am adding more examples now.
There is a Bookmarks section in the interface of the Brave browser.
It looks like this
The symbol is of a small book. It is accessible through the sidebar or the bar menu. Bookmarks should open a dropdown to explore my bookmarks.
There exists this option to "show the Bookmarks button.
I am expecting that when I click this button, it will show the Bookmarks button on the top menu bar, exactly how it does with the toggle for the wallet and sidebar buttons.
What you get is this Flag icon added to the left of your URL address field. This is called the “Bookmark this tab” button.
There are several extensions that do the job if you can’t wait another 2 years for an update!
Here’s mine:
Tip: in the shortcuts page brave://settings/system/shortcuts you can remove the Ctrl+D shortcut from “Bookmark this tab” and assign it to the extension here: brave://extensions/shortcuts.
