Give me an option to disable downloads being blocked
I understand that this is a good default, but I’m not 5 years old. If I select disable ALL protection, I mean disable ALL protection.
Either make the setting do what’s stated in it’s description, or make disabling the “download blocked” “confirm download” a separate setting.
This is REALLY annoying please fix.
@PixFPS what is happening where you see these being blocked? Part of why I’m asking is that you have different layers of security going on. For example, you have Safe Browsing at brave://settings/security which will check links for known malware or risks. But then we have Shields with a toggle for HTTPS connection upgrades at brave://settings/shields.
The two combined serve almost like a security system and a door lock. If you leave the door unlocked, that won’t disable the security system, and vice versa.
There is no toggle anywhere to “disable ALL protection.” Each layer of protection is done separately.
That said, I am wanting to clarify whether your issue may be something else. Unfortunately, you provided no details in regards to what’s happening, what version of Brave you’re using, the OS, or anything else.
As @Saoiray says this may not be because of Brave settings. I had this very recently and the only way I could download was by temporarily switching off my AV.
