Whenever an active Youtube page is left idle (for more than 10 minutes or 15 minutes or more), there is an audio playing in the background of that page (probably from another YouTube video). Not able to track the source of the audio.
Is this a feature of Brave Browser? How to disable such feature?
Am using Brave desktop version on Windows 10 laptop.
@care2play,
Thank you for reaching out.
If I understand correctly, if you leave a YT video idle for some time, audio will play from that tab, but not the audio from the video you’re watching? Is this correct? If so, when this happens, do you see the “speaker” icon on the tab (indicating that there is sound playing from this tab, as shown below)?
Yes, this is what happens. The speaker icon shows up. This happens for example, after a search is made on YouTube, or a video is played or a channel is accessed, but keep the tab idle for more than 10-15 minutes. Audio from some random video starts playing. Even if we scroll down the entire page, no video pertaining to the audio will be visible.
The extensions enabled with Brave Browser are as per the attached screenshot.
The audio may be from another YouTube video. Very randomly played. Sometimes may as well be the YouTube ad (based on the content of the audio). Shall try to grab a screen record for better explanation.
Would you mind trying to create a new test profile (ensure you close the original profile window you had open, so that only one window with the new profile is open when testing), view some YT content and tell me if Brave behaves the same way when using it?
