Antivirus warming "Brave is using your camera"


I have installed Brave in recent days and today I got two warnings from my antivirus (kaspersky) that “Brave is using your camera”.

I have settings as “ask” for permission, but it didn’t asked anything. It was my antivirus that pop up and said “Brave IS USING your camera”, and NOT asking.

  • I was NOT in some page that required camera access;

I saw a closed post (Can anyone explain why Brave Desktop for Win 10 keeps trying to access my webcam?) of someone who had similar problem, but there was no solution posted. Only that I could block the access, but that is not the same as having the app to ask for permission and not just start using the camera.

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. When opening the browser
  2. Navigating on browser

Expected result:
Have the app set as “ask” for permission and NOT have it using the camera without me allowing it.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.9.76 - Desktop.
