Annoying behavior of adress row

The following behavior of the address row is very annoying:

If I fill in some address, for instance “http://www.rosenheimer-stadtfalken.de”, then “enter”, I get the requested website.
If I then go to the address row and want to extend the URL, for instance I want to add “/bilder.html” to the former address, the whole URL in the address row disappears and cannot even be copied.
I don’t experience this behavior with other browsers, nor can I imagine what this is good for.

When you click into the address bar fro the second time to edit the address, it will disappear from the bar as described. However, directly under the bar is are share/copy/edit options. Use the edit option to change the address:
