Url in address bar instantly editable

That’s on Android.

Until recently, one tap on the url in the address bar highlighted the url.
A 2nd tap placed a cursor that allowed to edit the url.

Now, on the 1st tap, Brave displays a blank Google field and you have to hit the pencil icon if you want to edit the url.

Is there an option to restore the original behavior?

Thanks

I am using Brave Browser iOS v. 1.70.1 (133) on an iPhone.

Clicking on the URL address field, just a hair to the left of the Reload button, might sometimes cause a very quick highlight-and-then-an-unintentional-tap on the “X” (cut) button.

You don’t even have to touch the “X” (cut) button. If your finger tip is close enough to the display screen, the screen might sense and click for you.

I’ve been pointing this out for 23 days now, but no one seems to understand what I’ve been asking…
