Cannot copy URL from URL field

Description of the issue:
Tapping the URL bar clears it instead of highlighting the URL that’s already there.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave.
  2. Open any website.
  3. Tap URL at the top.
  4. Poof, it’s gone.

Expected result:
I expected that tapping on the URL will select the whole URL like every browser in the history of browsers and textfields did, allowing me to easily copy the whole thing, or hightlight part of the URL to copy, or move inside the URL to edit parts of it.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.71.118

well there’s a edit option below the empty search bar after tapping it. the edit option lets you edit the current url or copy it

Instead of clicking on the location field, try typing Ctrl+L. That should place the cursor in the location field and select its contents.
This doesn’t fix whatever problem you’re having, but it may be a workaround.

Not sure if thats the case as Ive uninstalled Brave and back and it seems the latest version has this issue and the only fix is as others mentioned to edit the URL, im not sure if its not that new feature that was added next to the URL link: check site information? Blue icon whatever that is.
