Amp preventing proper Brave Rewards

So I am a big fan of the idea behind Brave Rewards and really want to make it work. However, on Android, amp articles prevent Brave from properly recording which websites have gotten my attention. Any time I spend reading an article powered by amp gives the credit to Google instead of the website that posted the article. De-amping pages automatically would solve this. Otherwise the issue needs to be addressed directly.
