Google Amp Sites crashing on brave android

Description of the issue:

When I open a Google amp result (Google search result with a lightning bolt icon) the page initially loads but once I start to scroll the page crashes.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a Google amp link from a Google search
  2. Scroll the page
  3. Page breaks and displays an error icon

Expected result:

Page should continue to work properly

Brave Version( check About Brave):

1.5.5

Is this happening for all amp sites or any specific ones? Does it crash on Chrome as well? Do you mind checking if this happens on Brave Beta as well? You can install beta app side by side with 1.5.6

Hi,

I cleared the app’s data and everything is working normally again (although I can’t sync because I think it’s disabled in the current version of brave)

The crash was happening for all amp sites, I’ve tried the beta version and that is working fine too. No idea what happend!

We had another user report (on a Pixel 4) with the same issue, A bit hard to troubleshoot (Not seeing it on my OP6), but it should be logged.

Seems google didn’t like my post.

Maybe add feature to remove amp like bromite :roll_eyes:

I’m getting this on my OP6.
It’s been happening for a while, very annoying.

Brave: 1.5.9

Same on my Poco F1. It’s been real annoying!

I’m seeing this on my Pixel 3a XL also.
All amp sites, load, a few seconds later crash.
