Amazon Prime Movies no long play

Yes, Amazon Prime works with Chrome.

No, none of the sites ask to install Widevine.

When I checked the Brave component’s page for the Widevine module I got

Widevine Content Decryption Module - Version: 4.10.1440.18
Status - Component not updated

When I checked for an update, it wouldn’t update. How do I get it to update?

@Grammy,
It looks like this issue is actually known and will be resolved in the Dev build shortly – the Widevine issue is currently fixed in Nightly so Dev will be next.

That helps…knowing that its a known issue. Hope it fixed shortly. Meanwhile, its Chrome, here I come. Ugh.

Here is a previous solution for widevine. You could also be having trouble because Win 7 is no longer supported or updated by Microsoft. I hope this helps! :blush: @grammy

The world is changing faster than this sentance took to type. Users are REQUIRED to create an account on all of the services mentioned, even Hulu.

@Technotex I believe @Mattches is stating that once you visit the site, even without logging in, it should prompt the user to setup widevine in a pop-up.

We’re talking in a 24 hour period between Amazon Prime Movies working and not working with Brave. Also, I still get daily Win 7 updates…like today. My understanding is that support is still offered into 2020.

The call to Widevine is made when the request for content is requested depending on copyright vs public domain. I suggest you reinstall Brave for a potentally corrupt file(s).

@Mattches @merlaux @Technotex @Asad It works! The only thing I can figure is that the Brave folks fixed it. Thanks.
