I am writing to bring to your attention a significant accessibility issue with the Brave browser’s overflow menu button on Android. Users who are blind or have low vision and rely on Talkback with the “tab/activate” gesture enabled are unable to access the overflow menu button as it simply does not work. Additionally, the button is incorrectly labeled as “customize and control Google Chrome.”
This issue presents a major barrier for users who depend on screen reader technology to navigate their devices. It is crucial that the overflow menu button be accessible to all users, regardless of their visual abilities.
I kindly request that you prioritize addressing this issue and provide a solution as soon as possible.
Thank you for testing it yourself and creating an issue for it. You are describing the problems perfectly, much better than I did
I should have mentioned my devices in the original post, my apologies.
I tried the Brave browser on my old phone back in February, that was a Samsung Galaxy a71, running Android 13 and OneUI 5.1. I recently got a new phone and decided to try brave again but the same problems were there. My new phone is a Galaxy a35, running Android 14 and OneUI 6.1.
@DoorKnob1,
My pleasure. Thank you for the information. Looks like one of our engineers is already taking a look at this so hopefully we’ll have a fix out for it soon.
