About Bave won't check for updates unless using VPN

Hi, since I updated to Version 1.37.109 Chromium: 100.0.4896.60 the About Brave page won’t check for update and produced the following error:

An error occurred while checking for updates: Unable to connect to the Internet. If you use a firewall, please whitelist BraveUpdate.exe. (error code 7: [0x80072EE7]

I thought this was just a temporary issue with the update system, but I’ve noticed that there is no problem when using a vpn like ProtonVPN.

Any ideas?

As if by magic, it’s working as normal today so this is resolved.
