"A network change was detected." errors very frequently

Apologies if this is already answered elsewhere.

Description of the issue:
Using Brave (which I love) I increasingly get “A network change was detected.” errors when navigating to a page. It does not seem to be particular to a single page, but to many.

I do not see this behavior with other browsers.

I think it may have something to do with using Mulvad VPN, and will try some more experiments there.

How can this issue be reproduced?
To reproduce, I just:

  1. Run Brave
  2. Open a new tab
  3. Enter a URL or choose a bookmark

Expected result:
Very frequently, I will see the error above. Reloading sometimes clears up the problem.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.25.70 Chromium: 91.0.4472.77 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information:
Hopefully this is just some setting I’m missing. Any ideas?

Hi,
IMO you can do one of the follow:

  1. if you have some extensions installed try to remove them all.
  2. check your PC? for malware(trying to redirect your traffic)
  3. do 1 & 2 passages
  4. check stability of VPN service (trough Mulvad service help)
  5. disable VPN

This happens to me when my VPN changes servers while a page is loading, or if I try to load a page before the VPN is ready.
