2 Brave Wallets with same BIP-39 Phrase have different ETH address

A few months ago, I created a brave wallet on my laptop and wrote the BIP-39 phrase down. I think I also wrote down the full private key because I have that in my records too. I transferred some ETH to my wallet and all was well.

I then started using my desktop computer and I imported the wallet into another instance of the brave browser. After doing that, I do recall seeing that my funds were there.

Fast forward several months until today, and I opened the wallet on my desktop and was confused there were no funds. I compared the ETH address between my laptop and my desktop and there are two different ETH address in the wallet.

I also have a Solana address in both wallets - that address matches between the two computers.

I clicked “Backup Now” on both computers and it gives me the same BIP-39 recovery phrase. So I’m confused why I would have two different Ethereum addresses on the different computers using the same wallet.

The laptop (the system where I originally created the wallet) is on Version 1.62.165 Chromium: 121.0.6167.184 and I haven’t updated it. I created the wallet before or on that version.

The desktop is using Version 1.68.131 Chromium: 127.0.6533.73

If you click Create Account and add another Ethereum account, do you see the same address appear? Thanks

Hi, Evan, thanks for helping with me this. I turned off my desktop computer last night and this morning when I restarted Brave I now see an “Imported Accounts” section in addition to the regular “Accounts” section in the wallet. The Imported Accounts shows the same ETH address that I have on my laptop so it looks like the issue was resolved. The Imported Accounts section definitely wasn’t there last night, so I’m not sure what happened to fix it.
