Youtube videos start at the beginning instead of where I left off

Description of the issue:
When I go to my Youtube history and click a video that I’ve partway finished, it first loads the page with the video at the point I left, but then resets the video back to the start.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Watch a youtube video partway. I think it also happens if you seek partway through the video.
  2. Close the window.
  3. Go to Youtube history and select the same video.

Expected result:
Video starts playing from the point it left off.

1.57.2 (23.9.27.14)

Mobile Device details
iPhone SE, iOS 16.6.1

Additional Information:
For what it’s worth, this started awhile ago. Brave broswer worked fine when I first installed it, but then I guess an update changed it.
