Description of the issue:
Full screen cuts the video cause it cant stretch it properly (it works if you use the desktop mode of youtube available in the settings of that site or in brave settings sub menu.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Install brave
Go on youtube (mobile version) and watch a video in full screen.
You ll see the video cut in the bottom and not properly proportioned.
Expected result:
Full screen cuts the video cause it cant stretch it properly (it works if you use the desktop mode of youtube available in the settings of that site or in brave settings sub menu.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Latest version 1.6.2
Mobile Device details
I use a moto g7 power phone and having this issue only with latest chromium versions.
Additional Information:
I heard this bug comes from upstream, and it was making sense before because actually also chrome, firefox and other browsers using chromium had it aswell, but with the latest 79 one all browsers work perfectly except Brave as i ve tested and so its no more something coming from upstream.
Do you know something more about this issue that its not from upstream no more? Maybe a double check on that could be nice as it is getting annoying to use the desktop version on youtube to watch videos on full screen for months. Almost thinking to use brave for all and youtube app for youtube but i of course wouldnt want to do it.
Thanks in advance, for now the youtube bug is the only flow i m having with brave for past months.
@BiRaitBec,
I was unable to reproduce the issue you’re describing. Testing on my Samsung Galaxy S9+, Youtube seemed to display fullscreen video without any issue. Does this happen for any other sites/media players when streaming fullscreen video content?
As i said im using a motorola moto g7 power phone, which probably is longer than avarage but the same site on different browsers do not have the same bug.
Like I said in the description, I don’t have the problem with other browsers, chrome include…
And now I see post from other brave users with the same problem.
I am not a specialist, just a user, but chrome use Chromium and Brave use Chromium. With chrome no problem but with Brave Yes. How should be a Chromium problem ?
Thanks
Regards
Correction : now i also have the problem with chrome.
