I can no longer view Youtube videos with Brave because It blocked me from viewing the videos and they’ve detected ad blockers.

Never mind, I uninstalled Brave and Re-installed it and it’s fine now. However, I don’t know how long is that going to last.

Google/Youtube is always updating their ad-block detection and will sometimes be able to detect our ad-blocker (or any). This is a back and fourth battle that will likely continue to happen. When it does, please let us know about it and also check to ensure that your Brave Ad-block updater component is fully up to date in brave://components.

You don’t have to uninstall and reinstall, just update manually.

Me too , youtube no working in Shield 
Same Here. Everything is up to date, cleared cache and cookies, and it still shows up.

The same thing is happening, I’ve done the “manual update” steps, but it’s no use!
I just disabled the brave shield and went back to the regular adblocker and privacy badger and now I don’t seem to have the problem.

When the popup is displayed, I just close it (with the X) and press play on the video. The videos still play just fine.

Have to chime in here. I am having the same problem. Here is an image of what I am seeing. I have also updated everything and I still have this problem

I have it off and I haven’t seen a video ad just yet. but it still sucks.
Hey all.
First off, want to point out from uBlock Origin:
As you can see, they are saying this was an issue on a larger basis. They have pushed out some fixes which will show up in filters. We should see some improvements from those filter lists in Shields as well. But as with all things, it can take time.
Secondly, little common notes:
Do keep in mind the general.

Be mindful of extensions.You want to use as few as possible as they often do cause issues.

Make sure to check your Shields settings. In general, good to have blocking to Aggressive. Then for
brave://settings/shields/filtersyou want Fanboy’s Annoyances + uBO Annoyances. You may want Brave Experimental Adblock Rules as well. -
Always make sure your browser and everything at
brave://componentsare updated. Actually hit to check for updates, don’t just trust what you see there. -
Make sure to clear all Google and YouTube cookies. If doing all of that doesn’t make a difference, the warning message and restriction is often saved to cookies.

For some, it may be account related. Three months ago uBO team even stated that they were noticing this trend and were looking for people experiencing this to contact them and potentially share account info if willing. If it’s #5, then you should see that if you go to YouTube in a private window or in a spot where you’re not signed in, that videos will play with no issues and it only triggers when you login to YouTube.

Heads up to people who use “Return YouTube Dislike by Dmitry Selivanov” extension - it looks like it might be connected to the recent pop ups involving Ad-blockers (in this instance - uBlock) being turned on. I managed to figure out that after turning it off annoying pop ups dissapeared. Most likely Google took a closer look into this extension, trying to get rid of it. Or maybe extension itself is colliding in some way with uBlock - I don’t know. All I know is that after turning it off i haven’t seen any pop ups.

I double checked the update, I deleted the cache of Youtube and google, I tried it and it’s still not working. I need proper steps or better update for the brave site to work.
