Wordpress verification failed

I’m having issues verifying my Wordpress site. I’ve installed the plugin and copied the verification code into the plugin. I’m getting this error message (with website name removed):

Your website, .com, was not verified because we could not find the public file at .com/.well-known/brave-payments-verification.txt. Please make sure the file exists and is publicly available.

I’m sure there’s something simple I’m missing. I was able to verify a YouTube channel without issue.

@rpag, sorry for the late response, let me cc @Asad for this one.

Sometimes the Wordpress plugin can be tricky. Having the wrong permissions for your hosting account is often the cause of this. I recommend you give DNS verification a shot if you’re having trouble with the Wordpress plugin! Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks. The account I’m emailing about is the [email protected] account. Can you tell me if I’m doing something wrong?

Hmm, from my end there isn’t much I can see that you’re obviously doing wrong. Try giving DNS verification a shot and let me know how it goes!

Do you have a link with instructions for the DNS verification so I can make sure I do it correctly?

There’s no tutorial per-se just yet. However, the Rewards dashboard will walk you through the process. It just can’t help you when it comes to configuring your domain since all providers are different. In that case, it’d be better to reach out to your domain provider for assistance.
