Windows Updates Disable Brave

Windows Updates keep disabling Brave. Every time I figure out how to make it work again, Windows forces another update.

The message I am getting today after a forced update on my Windows 10 computer is “The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.”

I don’t know what that means or how to do what it’s suggesting.

Please explain what that tool is and how to fix this issue. I’m concerned about apps that open backdoors.

I was able to get past some hurdles last week to bring Brave back up, but Explorer won’t allow me to today.
Brave ono my computer is the most current version.

Hi

This error is probably due to the Visual C++ runtime being old or corrupt

  1. Download it from https://docs.microsoft.com/th-TH/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

  2. If this doesnt solve the issue,

  • Hold Windows Button+S
  • TYpe in event viewer
  • Wait until you see erros list in Summary and Administrative Event, double click on it
  • Look for sidebyside and double click on it
  • Copy The diagnostic and google it to to make sure what verion of Microsoft Visual C++ is needed for your device
