Crash after Windows Update


Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. After Windows update "2022-11 x64 ベース システム用 Windows 11 Version 22H2 の累積更新プログラム (KB5020044)”, always crash Brave and cannot start browser.
    2.Windows version

1 - What kind of device and OS do you have?

2 - Have you updated to the latest Brave version? If this is a desktop computer found at brave://version to download the most recent one https://brave.com/download/

3 - A screenshot of the issue (if possible).

Additionally, can you please go to brave://crashes and

  • if you have automatic crash reporting is enabled (Settings --> Privacy/Security --> Automatically send diagnostic reports), please respond back here with the crash report ID
  • If Automatically send diagnostic reports is not enabled, ensure you click Send on these crash reports listed on the page, then reply here with the crash report ID

1-I use ThankPad X1 Carbon with Windows 11 Pro 22H2 build 22621.900 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

2- Brave latest version is installed by over writing, but crash the same.
I cannot start Brave cz alwasy crash before showing any site.
So cannot take a screenshot and cannot open setting.

Can you give me a futher solution?

Thanks for your reply we appreciate the details. Could you kindly try to reinstall Brave Browser to see if this solves the issue.

Additionally, Please try installing the Beta or Nightly version of Brave to see if the issue persists on those versions.

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, reinstalling Brave Browse was useless, and always crashed on every starting.

As for Beta, I could install it and start, but cannot import Bookmark and Password from Brave Browser (>_<).

From there a Support Agent can look further into the matter. Be waiting for your response!

Unfortunately I cannot open Settings due to the immediate crash of Brave browser when starting.

How quickly do these crashes occur? I’m wondering if Brave is open long enough to try the following options:

Try disabling the crypto.com widget and then test again and tell if the issue is resolved.

If this does not work, try test turning Brave News off, relaunching and testing again.

Thanks for your message.

Unfortunately, the Brave crashes occurred immediately and closed windows, so no way to see Settings.

By the way, I could install Brave beta and open, then uninstall Brave and reinstall and could open, but found an update error in the attached screenshot.

I don’t know this may affect to use Brave continuously or not !?
