I’ve been using Brave on Linux Mint 21 (Cinnamon, Xorg) for 2 years, flatpak install.
About a month ago starting it by icon click suddenly took 30-60 seconds. Unpleasant but tolerable. Using advice from here I’ve tried disabling hardware acceleration using brave://flags - didn’t help.
Now it launches in the processes but the window doesn’t show even after a long wait.
Using the icon’s option to open incognito window shows number 2 for the second window as it should be, but the miniatures are empty.
Also tried:
- moving Local State file to set all flags to default,
- downgrading the version to the earliest one flathub has available (commit 5d0ece9c15fff342bf92c1a70705991a14bec9f24f48afb8f2c0328c069b095f from May 1st),
- installing from Brave repo using apt.
Behavior remains the same.
Current version (from flatpak list):
Brave Software com.brave.Browser 1.66.115 stable system
While running from terminal output is like this:
~:flatpak run com.brave.Browser
Gtk-Message: 11:08:32.548: Failed to load module “xapp-gtk3-module”
Gtk-Message: 11:08:32.741: Failed to load module “xapp-gtk3-module”

UPD: After reverting to a Timeshift image from a few days ago, Brave launches even after applying the latest update. However, it still takes 3-5 minutes for the window to appear.
Used to be just a few seconds.
What could cause the delay?
