Brave window never appears

When I try to start brave using an icon or the command it begins spawning processes but no window appears.

I’ve tried reinstalling, disabling gpu acceleration, extensions, starting it incognito but nothing seems to work. I installed brave using the the official channels so there shouldn’t be any issues with flatpacks or other packaging methods.

What can I do to get my browser working again? Is there some flag that I can use to get a clean brave profile without disturbing my current one to see if I’m missing something? I would post logs but the forum won’t let me since I’m new.

Brave Version: 96.1.33.106
OS: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

EDIT: I checked the brave version on my windows box and it works just fine. It’s using chromium 96.0.4664.110 and it’s fully up to date. I might be missing something but was there an update pushed to linux that didn’t make it to windows recently?
