I have been using Brave for a year now, maybe, year and a half, and I have noticed that its History doesn’t go back all that far. I don’t often use that function, but when I do, I see that websites I have definitely visited four-six months ago are not there. Why? Before anybody asks, I don’t have any software that deletes such things, nor do I have “Clear on exit” enabled, nor have I deleted the browser and reinstalled it in that time, nor have I cleared History manually - not once, because it is a valuable archive for me. Only it’s a dud archive, if the farthest it remembers from today is April and thereabouts.
Unfortunately Brave has been following the Chromium model and it only keeps History for 90 days. If there are any particular sites you’d like to not forget, you may want to add to bookmarks or you can perhaps try to use extensions such as History Trends Unlimited which people have sworn by for years.
And to show you the official response to similar questions, so you know I’m not making it up on the Chromium aspect:
And then Mattches went to Github to request as part of something else that they add the ability to save longer, but there’s been no movement on it since he added that in February.
So that extension keeps History forever? Thanks in that case. Or perhaps I can find another. What an idiotic concept, to delete the very thing that is supposed to be kept, though.
Here is another one you might want to try, depending on what you’re looking for.
