Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.
Description of the issue:
Multiple times now I’ve noticed icons for two shopping websites appear in the top left on the search bar line where the default search engine icon should be (Android app). I’m worried that these (Amazon-style) websites are gathering my data. When I go into Settings my default browser is still set to DuckDuckGo and I can’t find any settings that mention them anywhere. The first time it happened was when I made the mistake of visiting OnBuy.com and only uninstalling and reinstalling Brave completely made the icon disappear. Now it’s happened again but with the Wayfair logo! (Which is odd as I can’t recall visiting the website recently).
How can this issue be reproduced?
Seemingly after visiting the websites in question (though I can’t recall visiting Wayfair on my mobile for a while)
Expected result:
Not have their icons on my browser and figure out why they were there in the first place.
