What happened to the white in my browser?

Yesterday I could see the the Home button, and the names of the folders on my bookmarks bar but today they are all gray. What happened?

How can this issue be reproduced?
I shut my computer off and restarted it and the issue is still there. It is extremely hard on my eyes. I’m 69 and wear trifocals. I love Brave, I would like mine back.

Expected result:
I just would like the white words back.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.34.80 Chromium: 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I made a jpg to illustrate my problem, but I don’t see how I can post it.

@Mattches (do look into it)

You can post screenshots. It will be an upwards arrow, on the left side of three horizontal bars in the image I just posted.

Ah. Thank you! Hope this works.

Select either default colour, it will be top left (second in row).
If white strains your eyes, you can have a dark theme too

Thank you! That worked nicely. Not the color I had before, but at least I can see everything now.
I appreciate that!

FWIW I don’t think this is due to anything we changed on our end. It looks like you have/had a custom browser theme enabled which is likely the cause of the problem – perhaps even due to itself having been updated.

Thank you, Mattches. I had not thought of the theme having been updated.
I like that I can customize Brave so that it makes it easier for me be able to see.
It is my default browser.
Thank you for your reply.
