What are Brave's recommendations re installing Widevine (e.g., for Spotify)?

I can’t tell whether Widevine is required (or optional) when you’re prompted to install it.

However, an attempt to get some music to play on Spotify after declining it resulted in nothing happening (no error message either).

What are Brave’s recommendations re installing Widevine?

Since it’s a Google product I’m not eager to install it if I don’t have to.

Widevine issue - you might want to consider:

There is a lot of info re a Widevine installation and nuance of the extension status (settings) affecting the presence of the Widevine folder . . . throughout that page – worth study and making notes.
