Hi,

It’s blocked by default due to ads using refer.ccbill.com links, not a specific Brave issue but is blocked in Easylist.

Hello.

I am sorry but I must disagree with a referral link code in a button being blocked by default as brave thinks it is an ad. If a page were to use a normal text link, would brave also block it? If not then it would seem it should since is still a referral link. Regardless if it is refer.ccbill or not.

Is this to say all affiliate link codes in a button are blocked by brave? Like amazon? Or is this only for adult affiliate link codes? Not sure if I can agree here.

As brave grows in popularity, as it is, it may become a bigger issue. I really love the brave browser but now knowing that it blocks some page content that is meant to be seen, or meant for a visitor to see more of something via an affiliate link code, it becomes an issue for many web developers try to make revenue via affiliate programs.

If they block a button then they may as well block a normal text link as well. Which would be more of an issue of course. Hmmm.

Also, I should mention that since the last brave upgrade is when this started. It worked fine prior to the last update.

Its blocked in Easylist and Easyprivacy. The fix (27 days ago) came from https://github.com/easylist/easylist/commit/321370e826fd6a460a16bb42d28b953d1f8cebf6
via https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/74311
Blocked in Dec 2020:

Not just “Adult affiliate” codes, but ad banners linked to ad affiliate codes, which is why its blocked, Its just not simple text links here, its adding banners.

It would seem that Brave may advise of a detection of their browser script/code for developers to alert those using brave that not all content is available due to shields being on; is not viewable in such a case of braves selective affiliate links to show, or not to show.

Blocking annoying ads is one thing. Blocking affiliate referral links is another. Regardless of it being adult content links.

I absolutely love the brave browser. I like having shields up. But, if it’s going to hide particular types of links, then, how am I supposed to know to lower the shields just to see some referral urls being blocked from relative content?
