First off I want to state I’ve been using brave for years and the biggest thing I love is the vertical tabs feature. It would impossible for me to go back to the old way tabs were handled.
However, in using the vertical tabs especially with the auto-hide/show on mouse-over I get a bit frustrated as I will frequently move my cursor slightly off the tab sidebar (Especially when trying to clear a tab) for it to instantly hide, so I have to play this game of re-hovering over and over to click where I need to.
My proposed solution is simple, reverse the current settings implemented on the vertical tab sidebar mouseover:
- On initial hover, the vertical tab bar should appear instantly, instead of the current 1/3 or so second delay.
- When your cursor moves off the tab side bar, the bar should remain for 1/3 or so seconds instead of instantly collapsing.
This would allow for very natural mouse movements and won’t have to rely on being ultra precise to stay in the vertical tab sidebar. This to me would be a perfect user experience, and cannot see any down sides for this implementation. Let me know your thoughts!
