[VANISHED] Weird freeze issue when switching from PWA window back to a normal browser window

I observe a weird issue that happens, IIRC, since the latest update. My current Brave version is Version 1.46.134 Chromium: 108.0.5359.94 (Official Build) (x86_64) on macOS 12.6.1 (Intel).
I also tried the currently available beta of Brave (Version 1.47.115 Chromium: 108.0.5359.94 (Official Build) beta (x86_64) with vanilla configuration and no extensions installed, with the same result.

Repro steps:

  1. Open Brave. Ensure that at least one browser window is open.
  2. Open a PWA
  3. Click on the PWA window
  4. Click on a standard browser window.

Result: The browser window freezes for several seconds. The mouse cursor changes to the Beach Ball Of Death.

This does not happen when clicking a non-Brave window between steps 3 and 4. For example:

  1. Click on PWA window
    3.5 click on Dictionary app
  2. click on browser window.

In this case the browser responds immediately.

Here is a screencast that shows the behavior except that Loom did not record the Beach Ball cursor. So whenever the mouse cursor seems to remain unmoved over the main Brave window, imagine a rolling Beach Ball instead.

I would regard this as a bug, but any ideas about other possible causes and workarounds are welcome.

Update: With today‘s Brave update, the issue no longer occurs.
