USB webcam does not work on Brave

When using my USB webcam on a site such as Google Meet, turning on camera functions yields a “camera is being used by another app” or “webcam failure” message, even though no such thing is the case (as checked with the Process Explorer software).

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to Google Meet or https://webcamtests.com/
  2. Allow for camera to be used.
  3. Check error message

Expected result:

For the camera to work without issue.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.66.118 Chromium: 125.0.6422.147

Additional Information:
Camera works on app such as Discord or Zoom and additionally works on Firefox.

Doing a clean install of Brave has not fixed the issue.
Permissions are granted for websites to use the camera.
There is no other camera to choose from in dropdown menus.

On the Camera settings in W10 it says that Brave hasn’t accessed the camera since May 30th which makes me suspect that Brave is somehow blocking it or can’t access it, but I have no clue how to check for either of those
