I updated my Brave browser setting to Upgrade connections to HTTPS, but it doesn’t look like it’s working. For example, I tried visiting the website: http://embedresponsively.com, but it still shows (http://). Should this be (https://)? What should I expect from this upgrade connections to HTTPS feature? I thought it would change sites with http:// to https://. If not, how can I confirm that my connection is more secure with this settings turned on?
@justinm Brave will try to “upgrade” the connection only if the site support HTTPS but still redirect it to HTTP. https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022806212-How-do-I-use-Shields-while-browsing-
Thanks for the quick reply.
For websites that don’t support HTTPS, are there any settings or extensions that you recommend to help protect me or stop malicious activity?
we rely on lists from https everywhere, when I get a chance I’ll submit a patch for the site. (might still be awhile away before you see it upstream)
Still needs to approved etc. but a patch is submitted.
Thanks for considering my request! If I could trouble you to reply to this thread once the patch has been implemented, I’d greatly appreciate it. If not, I’ll try and look for another notification or email on this patch release.
Was merged, not sure how long it’ll show up in Brave. But its on its way
