Description of the issue:
Have been receiving this error message since I started using Brave (at least a year now, if not two) on both Intel platform and now on Apple Silicon platform
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Each time an update displays as available I try to install and it fails
Expected result:
Successful update and relaunch of app
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.61.100 Chromium: 120.0.6099.62 (Official Build) (arm64); after installing manually
Additional Information:
MacOS 14.1.2, Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac Version 9.4.0.8
Separate User and Admin accounts created, always using User account.
Error appears with or without non-Brave VPN connection active.
Error appears with or without ‘Bitdefender Shield’ active.
Correct admin credentials are entered when prompted, but process fails.
If I download latest version manually and install, providing same admin credentials when prompted, it is successful.
Prior posts on this topic are closed, with suggestions to log in with Admin user as solution, but this should not be necessary, right?
