Uninstalling Brave leaves debris everywhere

Hello,

Description of the issue:
I decided to uninstall Brave because I didn’t like the WebRTC management, and went to Add/remove programs, selected Brave and clicked uninstall, and thought that would be it.

However, I noticed that the Brave Updater service still survived in Task Manager / Services, so I rebooted, hoping that would get rid of it. Alas, no. Why would I still need an updater service for software that I have just uninstalled?

I didn’t check the version that I was running when I uninstalled it, but given the frequency with my which my antivirus prompts me about your updater service running, I presume its the very latest.

I googled removal of the updater service, and searched this forum, and found a somewhat related link that had incorrect advice. So I went to the program files folders and in C:\Program Files (x86) I found 178mb of stuff which I deleted and then I turned to the registry where I found 61 keys etc. scattered about that I also had to delete.

So my issue is, why does uninstalling Brave leave the updater service running and installed, why is 178mb of software left installed and why are 61 keys etc. left scattered around the registry after uninstalling.

Sholdn’t an uninstaller remove all of this?

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Install Brave and then uninstall it

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
A litany of files, .EXEs, services and registry entries left behind

Expected result:
All traces of Brave removed from my C Drive, my services and my registry

Reproduces how often:
I’m not going to re-install it again and spend another 30 minutes tidying it all up again

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 22H2, and I ininstalled Brave before noting its version number as I wasn’t expecting to have this issue
