Can not uninstall. Don't know how i got Brave in the first place!

Not sure how I got Brave on my laptop. Only thing I did install was a Div-X update. Was Brave hidden in there somewhere? I never asked for it or gave permission to install it.

I can’t uninstall it. When I use the standard W7 “uninstall”, the hour glass appears for a split second, then nothing. No activity, no error message. I really want to uninstall it and I don’t thing just nuking the program folder is the right way.

@Packratjohn: If you want to uninstall brave. Please follow the below steps:

1. Uninstall all Brave versions from Control Panel
2. Remove BraveSoftware folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\BraveSoftware
3. Remove BraveSoftware from AppData\Local\BraveSoftware
4. Go into regedit and specifically look for the below two keys:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BraveSoftware\
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BraveSoftware\

Delete BraveSoftware folder from both keys

Answear to your question step 1 to 4 is enough to remove Brave completely from you’re machine.

If you want to install Brave, you can download the setup/.exe from below path:

5. Download and install brave from https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v0.58.18
